Our Chicken Business Unit processes almost 3 million chickens per week offering our customers and consumers a broad portfolio of fresh, frozen and cooked chicken products. These include the “Super Roaster” – the market leader in large chickens; chicken portions including fillets, thighs, drumsticks; cooked wholebirds and portions.
 
Our policy of continuous investment in the most advanced processing equipment ensures each site is fully EU approved and capable of delivering a high quality range of products.
 
Supported by our agriculture activities we operate a network of breeding, hatching and growing facilities throughout the UK which supply Grampian’s primary processing plants.  Through continuous investment in this sector we have been able to maintain the quality and security of supply, whilst ensuring fully traceability required by today’s market.

To ensure that our high standards are maintained, a policy and procedures manual is in place at every stage of the chicken rearing process. This has served to highlight our proactive approach to all aspects of chicken welfare and environmental management. Our best example of this was when we voluntarily banned the use of antibiotic growth promoters in all our poultry diets. In addition all of our chickens are grown under the new chicken assurance scheme managed by Assured Chicken Production.
