Hall's Flies off the Shelves in Scotland
19 June 2006

In the last twelve months two new Hall’s branded products have seen record sales with over one million packs of Chicken Balmoral and 500,000 packs of beef olives being sold across Scotland. This follows a successful move by Halls into the raw added value (RAV) sector to complement its existing core pork based products.

Due to the demand for products produced to traditional Scottish recipes, a third dish has been added to complement the range; Chicken Braemar – a succulent chicken breast stuffed with Hall’s Black Pudding served with a creamy peppercorn sauce.

Commenting on the success of this range Anna Finlay, Hall’s Brand Marketing Manager said, “We are delighted that these Halls products have proved so successful with the Scottish consumer. Produced to a traditional Scottish recipe they bring together the convenience, flavour and quality ingredients without the hassle of producing them from scratch. We have introduced a third product, Chicken Braemar, to the range and we will look to add further products to grow the range.

“Based on their wide appeal in Scotland we are hoping to grow the market for these products south of the border. At this time with the World Cup now well underway these products would be ideal for any supporter wanting to stay at home to cheer on their favoured team with a Scottish meal,” Anna added.

The RAV sector is the fastest growing sector within the Hall’s brand as consumers are looking for the convenience of pre-prepared foods produced to a high standard. In Scotland alone this market is worth £11million with year on year growth of 57%[1]. Through the development of new products within this category it provides a platform to deliver the Hall’s brand to a wider audience.
